They're Alan Berger, John O'Sullivan, Heather Frazer, Sandra Norman, and Henry Abrahmson. There are also staff members who were also "help ful", such as Carlene Watson, Bonnie Lander, Samantha Roe, and everyone in the library. The named faculty & staff members were very supportive during my academic career.  

  I enjoyed taking classes with Professor George Young. He is a very knowledgeable person and he was a gift to be an educator. I also want to mention Professor Julia Higgs, Henry Abram son, Jim Carney, and Professor Loudon.   (Back to Top)

  Prof. Anthony Adams, Ph.D. enhanced my overall education by expanding my philosophical views and improving my critical reading and writing skills. Professors Hnatysh, Dicosola, and Prusa have all contributed to my artistic success and art critique abiliti es.  

  Prof. John Leeds, Prof. Don Adams, Prof. Emily Stockard, and Prof. Johnny Payne have all improved my person, my studies, my very LIFE. They are all the finest professors a student could hope for, pray for, or dream of.  

  Dr. Adams assisted me in satisfying my graduation requirements.  

  Dr. Louda, Dr. Lauren-Fields, Dr. Adams, Dr. Reese. These individuals encouraged and pushed on to their best  

  I worked for Dr. Peter Lutz & Sarah Muton for 2 years, both we very helpful to me. Dr. Ralph Adams was a very good teacher and advisor.   (Back to Top)

  Dr. Ackibe, his approach to the subject, his ethics and professionalism are examples to follow. Dr. Patrick Butler, for one exit class Business Policy, his course enhance our presentation and .our awareness for the understanding of the environment.  

  I felt that the following staff members helped me to succeed or broaden my understanding of business: Patricia McGuire, Dr. Akhibe and Dr. Bartunek. In all circumstances, these professors were willing to devote the extra time necessary in making sure stud ents understood the material presented, took time (took pride in making sure students learned and not memorized things.) Presented info in the form of logic while challenging the student on concept.

  Dr. Marcus Allen, he gave all the skills needed to understand and to make great deals in real-state.  

  Professor Kelly and Allen are some who helped me the most, their classes were very dynamic and interesting.

  Dr. Ariza motivated me to learn more about children from different cultures. Professor Spear is an excellent asset as well. She is also very knowledgeable in her field and does her best to advise and support you.

  Yes. Several. Kelly Haynes is an amazing professor and person. She gave us a real life perspective of teaching in the real world & incredible amounts of support. Ray Cafolla- he is a true teacher. In that, I mean he explained material so thoroughly an d without 'jargon' we couldn't understand. He was very fair, funny and helpful. Eileen Ariza gave a real perspective of the teaching world and projects applicable; Susan Lapp, also, Tim Leistner is a fantastic teacher.   (Back to Top)

  Dr. Forstner and Dr. Baldwin tremendously assisted my progress by offering instruction and guidance in the technical aspects of my education that are important post-graduation.   (Reading teacher, Davie) Dr. Braunious was the perfect teacher "model", always available. Dr. Matanzo, always positive, made a person feel like they could do anything  

  Dr. Braunius - she motivated me with her style and exuberance for teaching.  

  Dr. Marlene Braunius was extremely helpful to me both as a student in her classroom and as an intern in student teaching. Her door was always open and she was eager to assist me in developing my skills by meeting one on one or referring me to appropriate literature, an outstanding professor! Also, Dr. Penelope Fritzer, I felt confident that I would succeed due to her guidance.  

  Dr. Braunius helped me a great deal. She provided me with confidence & knowledge.

  Dr. Bristor and Dr. Keemar were very encouraging. Dr. Wayne Hill was also very supportive and positive!

  I took two classes with Dr. Buckton - he is interesting and inspirational. Dr's Crawford & Mitchell are also great.  

  I've had several highly effective instructors including Kevin Crawford, Dr. McGuirk, and Dr. Oliver Buckton. They have all been very open to class discussion, and taught me a great deal.   (Back to Top)

  Amy Bufford of advisement was great at keeping me on track. Professor Henderlitter of Organizational Behavior really helped with resumes and was an extraordinary professor.

  Dr. Mechkler, Dr. Butler, Dr. Hung, and Dr. Manage, Dr. Mendelson. All professors are very professional and very knowledgeable in their fields. They all posses very interesting teaching styles which facilitates learning of the subjects presented.  

  Dr. Patrick Butler, Adj. Prof. School of Business raised the bar in performance and expectations. He taught the most difficult but most rewarding class and inspired me to work harder than I ever have.  

  Dr. Ackibe, his approach to the subject, his ethics and professionalism are examples to follow. Dr. Patrick Butler, for one exit class Business Policy, his course enhance our presentation and .our awareness for the understanding of the environment.  

  Patrick Butler has some very good ideas and teaching methods. By utilizing self evaluation, peer evaluation and teacher evaluations gave me a full view of my skills and abilities.   (Back to Top)

  Dr. Ceros-Livingston - her course :measurement: exaluatum was one of the courses in which I learned the most. Dr. Centrone - Reading I - a very effective course.  

  Dr. Centrone - really gave me a love of teaching reading. So much that I will probably pursue a specialist degree in curriculum w/an emphasis on reading.   (Back to Top)

Cerveny, Dr.
  Dr. Hu, Prof. Gallup, Dr. Gill, Dr. Winters, and Dr. J. Cerveny all played a big part of my success.  

  Dr. Cerveny was an excellent help in changing the way I viewed the world outside of college. Dr. Mangleburg aided me in my educational guest with knowledge and excellent articles.  

  Dr. Janice Cerveny for opening my eyes to new business paradigms such as TQM and TOC and the distortions in current traditional paradigms. Dr. Terry Nixon who taught me the principles of Finance.  

  Janice Cerveny -most outstanding teacher ever encountered. The only professor that captivated an entire class. Joe Remsa - a real world professor. Awesome teacher for MAN 4720. Easiest teacher to communicate with. William McDaniel - advanced Finance - tough as hell, but respected you if you gave it your all. Never spent so much time in the computer lab.   (Back to Top)

  Throughout the nursing program, instructors were very good and helped distinguish special qualities in each student, however, Dr. Keller was exceptional as she helped improved my self esteem and suggested that I was a good candidate for grad school.   Dr. Charnetzky who became my advisor and explained all the details about my degree requirements and also was available for any questions students had doing office hours and after class.  

  Dr. Charnetzky help me a lot. Make me more interesting in my major.

  Dr. David Courtney (Art History) was the most influential professor I had at FAU. His ideas are fascinating and influences and encourages you to dedicate your life to learning. He was wonderful!  

  David Courtney. Offered challenging classes. Gave extraordinary lectures. Expanded my knowledge base of art and more. I took four of his classes and each one proved informative, challenging, and inspiring.  

  He was always encouraging and helpful (& funny) with any situation I brought to him. Nicole Rokos - OSO counselor - Extremely caring and helpful as well  

  Dr. Courtney (no longer here) was very understanding about issues in my life that were complicating my life making my best performance in class difficult and he went out of his way to help me.  

  In my major: Dela Torres (Davie campus) Outside of my major: Dr. Courtney (Boca) art appreciation. Courtney can make you challenge values & beliefs that have been cemented in your thoughts since birth!  

  Dr. Courtney was a tough professor who forced you to do your best in order to succeed. Dr. Gould was a good professor open to interaction with students. Her class was tough but she worked hard to make sure all students became familiar and comprehended th e subjected.  

  Offhand, I can only name 2 professors who cared or put forth effort to be concerned with their students - they were Dr. Courtney & Dr. Russell Kerr. At the same time they were challenging & interesting.  

  Mrs. Ross (English Dept) and Dr. Courtney (Art) both helped tremendously with developing my critical thinking skills. Reading and writing, that I think will serve me very well in the future.   (Back to Top)

  Lorraine Cross was my Gen I teacher from her class I learned the majority of my educational knowledge. She was/is a leader and inspiration she also personally cares for her students.  

  Alice Meshbane really helped me understand statistics. Lorraine Cross was a great motivator and professor for General Education 1  

  Brenda Darr and Lorraine Cross, both taught general teaching practices. Both teachers were extremely knowledged in their subject area, and very well prepared every class hour.  

  Lorraine Cross - very motivating and interesting instructor. Dr. Voss - fantastic teacher! Dr. Harris - North campus- wonderful, helpful instructor.  

  Lorraine Cross!!! She is a remarkable example of an excellent educator! She is a true mentor and teaches what she "preaches". I will try to model myself as an educator, after her. Thanks Ms. Cross!

  I enjoyed Dan Saimasians music courses, which were always fun and interesting. Dr. Darlington's minorities in the media and her Intercultural communication classes were also well taught and enjoyable. I did two internships, which helped me gain confidenc e and work experience in my field of interest and has also helped me get my part time jobs after graduation. Dr. Smith's interviewing courses were also enjoyable and helpful. Dr. Sefcovic and Dr. Reilly were in charge of my internships and very helpful always.  

  Most of the faculty and advisors in the communication and arts and humanities departments were very helpful, especially Dr. Darlington, Mr. Luce, and Mrs. Ross assisting with encouragement and educational advisement.

  Throughout my career at FAU, I had terrible advising. My advisor either didn't know what was going on or didn't know what I should do. I had ONE appointment with Dr. Gallagher (Geology) and got more out of that meeting than all the others put together.  

  Dr. J Gallagher (Geology/Geography). Even though she works in a different dept., I minored in geology and show helped me not only with that, but other processes both with my graduating and looking into graduate studies.  

  Dr. Jackie Gallagher is the best professor at FAU. She is a wonderful teacher, advisor and person. She cares and is there for you and that' what counts.

  Dr. Deborah Harris was instrumental in assisting me to implement various reading techniques to increase a child's reading comprehension and overall reading skills.  

  Deborah Harris was a great source of information and help. Another important influence was Darlene Nowocien - both are wonderful, supportive faculty members.  

  Dr. Debra Harris, with advising; Dr. Perry Schoon, computer skills; Mrs. Lori Bonino, helped the most to prepare me as a teacher. Her ability to inspire me to do my best and challenge my students everyday to do their best.

  Throughout the nursing program, instructors were very good and helped distinguish special qualities in each student, however, Dr. Keller was exceptional as she helped improved my self esteem and suggested that I was a good candidate for grad school.   I was really impressed at how many of my instructors had doctorates. Staff members who were especially encouraging and enthusiastic included Dr. Voss, Dr. Romance, Dr. Morales-Jones and Dr. Kizlik, to name some! (Also, Dr. Lorna Shaw, though I think she's at Lynn U. now)

  Dr. Robert Kizlik was tremendously supportive of my goals. His class was a challenge and he's an outstanding professor. Very few teachers have ever had the enthusiasm that Dr Kizlik has.

Dr. Robyne Turner: I conducted a Sr. Researc h Project on Urban Environmental Studies and created a portfolio. In addition I gave a presentation to a POS 4000 level course.

  Mrs. Ross (English Dept) and Dr. Courtney (Art) both helped tremendously with developing my critical thinking skills. Reading and writing, that I think will serve me very well in the future.  

  Dr. Dorothy Guinn - she petitioned for my internship in D.C. against all odds. She also took a personal interest in my well-being, and will certainly always be a special friend. Also, Dr. Nanetta Durnell was the first person I met on campus & welcomed me in a wonderful manner.

Dr. Smith's interviewing courses were also enjoyable and helpful. Dr. Sefcovic and Dr. Reilly were in charge of my internships and very helpful always.  

  Nanette Durnell - She was extremely clear in her course materials she taught, and she was very descriptive in her expectations of course objectives. She encouraged her students to participate in group projects, oral presentations & encouraged us to keep u p with current events local & global. Excellent professor! Dan Salmasian fantastic adjunct professor as well!  

  Ruben Fergerson didn't jerk me around like everyone else at the college of Arts and Letters. Becky Mulvaney - she made learning fun and interesting. Nanetta Durnell - helped bring back faith in the educational system. Dan Salmasian - for being so damn c ool and understanding of students needs.

  Several faculty members of the history department were extremely helpful (to say the least) during my time at FAU . There are also staff members who were also "help ful", such as Carlene Watson, Bonnie Lander, Samantha Roe, and everyone in the library.   Becky Mulvaney's teaching style and openness to her students greatly helped me in both of her classes I took. Bridget Conners and Matthew Wright, both in Theatre, also greatly benefited my education  

  Matthew Wright and Thomas Atkins are the only professors in the theatre department who knows something about the Art of teaching.

Young, Dr.
  There was not one particular person that was especially helpful, but there were various professors that kept me interested in my major (accounting) and made me want to succeed, Dr. Young and Dr. Lassar in particular.  

  Most professors at FAU were excellent. Most of them were a great help to me. However, my special thanks go to:  

  Dr. Young (Auditing & Theory 1) He was very helpful because he helped me through Theory 1 with understanding my course work even though he wasn't my instructor. He was always at his office.  

  Dr. George Young - was always available, made difficult courses understandable, related experience in Major, taught as a professor and person, had confidence in me as a student.  

  I had no confidence in my decision to major in Accounting. Dr. Young's encouragement gave me the confidence to continue on, which I am very glad I did.  

  I enjoyed taking classes with Professor George Young. He is a very knowledgeable person and he was a gift to be an educator. I also want to mention Professor Julia Higgs, Henry Abram son, Jim Carney, and Professor Loudon.   (Back to Top)
