  Dr. Howard Hausen is an excellent teacher. His enthusiasm and teaching style made learning easy. Dr. Araghi is an excellent professor. Extremely knowledgeable and insightful. I gainer much knowledge from him.   (Back to Top)

  Jan Muzic (Patho instr + Clinical instructor) is awesome + helped my confidence as did Cynthia Archibald. Dr. Reins + Lisa Bujowski + Tery Touhey are all very good + I learned a lot from their experience.

  Cynthia Archibald. She was my labor & delivery clinical instructor. She made me believe in myself & she helped me make clinical decisions. She was tough, but she made me think & I leaned a lot. Now, because of her I am doing L& D as my rotation. They were all good.  

  Cynthia Archibald & Lisa Bujalski they were my clinical instructors in Labor & Delivery/ Pediatrics & Med Surg, respectively. They both encouraged me & forced me to think for myself. I owe a great deal of my nursing knowledge & care to them, b/c they gave me the confidence I needed to be a great nurse!   (Back to Top)

  Dr. Thomas Bakley thouroughly impressed me with his extremely rigourous use of language to emplicate a concept in class. He never shyed from such use of very deliberate language thus making the subject matter all the more clear and never rushed. Unlike man y mathmaticians, who clearly possess the suffient vocabulary and ability (inherent in their discipline), he always wmployed such ability.   (Back to Top)

  Dr. Frazier- Great Motivator Dr. Baldwin- taught me a lot. Dr. Forstner- taught me a lot. Dr. Lyons- very knowledgeable  

  Faculty t Davie Campus. Dr. Baldwin, Dr. Kumi-Diaka helped me a lot. They guided me in my course work.  

  Dr. John Baldwin - Biochemistry - Davie Campus- More so his lab than lecture, was very beneficial in my comprehension of laboratory biochemistry. The experiments we performed and subsequent reports really facilitated learning and understanding. He chall enged us mentally and made us really think for ourselves.  

  Dr. John Baldwin helps students and is responsive.  

  Dr. John Volin, Dr. John Baldwin, and Dr. Forstner. All three professors took extra time to help me when I needed it. They all made me think in their lectures instead of making me memorize theories and facts. All are excellent teachers and educators.   (Back to Top)

Baxley, Dr. Thomas
  Dr. Thomas Baxley is the greatest instructor I've had the opportunity to have. He could consider arguers however ambiguous and begin giving diverse interpretations to either crush their defense or praise their virtues. Unlike any professor of Philosophy th at I have had, he would do (not merely state) philosophy and do it well with great rigor and clarity.

  Dr. Berger in the department of Holocaust and Judaic Studies opened the door for me to choose between teaching secular or Judaic education. He did not tell me what to do which is what a lot of people would do but rather put the ball in my court. The choice is mine.   (Back to Top)

  In the college of biology "microbiolgy" I had quite a few good professors. For example Dr. Hartmann, Dr. Roner, Dr. Binninger, also in biochem Dr. Louda. They have all given me good advice and enthusiasm.  

  Dr. David Benninger was very helpful in guiding me through choosing classes and arranging lab research work. He set me up in the lab I currently work in; as a result I have learned a lot of technique and information bebficial to my future work in research.   (Back to Top)

  There have been a few, no one in particular. Dr. Diane Lowell in the Biology Department helped me to see how much I like to teach others science, and a few other things. She opened up my knowledge and liking to teaching. Dr. Jeffrey Borgia in the Biochem.   Dr. Braunius - she was a true inspiration to me. She helped me to understand myself and my students. She pushed me to succeed  

  Dr. Marlene Braunius - I took her for LAE and Reading I. Her love of teaching inspired me to be the best teacher I can possibly be. She motivated me and was always available to help.   Valerie Burks. I don't know what I would have done without her. If I had to do it all over again I would major in anything she was the advisor for.  

  Valerie Burks helped me more than anyone. As an ESE major I wasn't given much guidance or just availability to ask a question here + there. Until I reached Liberal Studies did I really even have a counselor.   (Back to Top)

  I believe there were many faculty/professors who I enjoyed my time with. Some names: Prof. Julia Higgs, Prof. Pradeep Korgmonuar, Prof. Cairney, Prof. George Young, and Prof. Wills. I believe these professors did a great job in and outside of the class.   (Back to Top)

Campaverde
  I would have to commend all the teaching staff in the Social Work Dept. Dr. Wes Hawkins, who is enthusiastic and caring as well as knowledgeable. Dr. Campavarde, who is a true social worker in the way she conducts herself with advocacy. Cheryl Moody, w ho is insightful and available to all her students. Keith Platt, who has such compassion and is so prepared with the subject he teaches. All the professors were wonderful and a pleasure to be exposed to.   (Back to Top)

Campoverde, C.
  C. Campoverde motivated me to do my best in school/. Karen Dodge gave me a new respect for Social Work research. Dr. Wallen taught me how to work hard in a class. T. Furden gave me words of wisdom. Professor Pierce taught me a great deal. K. Shafer pr oper me for field.  

  Dr. Campoverde shared personal experiences that allowed me to do my best and brought out my full potential.  

  I initially majored in Psychology- Dr. Leslie Terry was my most influential professor. In social work courses Professor Wallen in Practice III and Dr. Campoverde in Policy helped be more politically aware.  

  Dr. Greenfield helped me on believing in myself and striving for more. Dr. Campoverde showed me that in order to be a good social worker, you need to have a passion for it and get involoved with legislation.  

  Dr. Tan - Through his open minded personality, patience & experience, I found him one of the best professors that I ever had. Dr. Campoverde & Lausen - also excellent minds  

  Dr. Philip Tan who is a constant source of enthusiasm & encouragement. Dr. Cecile Campoverde who challenged me to my utmost & serves as a great role model to social work students.   (Back to Top)

  Dr. Swisher or Dr. Cerveny. Very inspiring with excellent knowledge in their fields.  

  I appreciated professors who encouraged lively lass discussion & creative thinking. Dr. Korgaonkar was great at this. Other great professors include Dr. Cerveny(female); Sheila Fleming; Dr. Malhotra; Dr. Skantz.  

  Dr. J.F. Cerveny was the only teacher in all my years at FAU who actually took the time to teach. She showed that she cared every step of the way during our learning. FAU needs more teachers like her. She teaches How, Why & How to. SHE IS THE BEST.  

  Dr. Janice Cerveny opened my eyes to a new way of thinking. She is the best instructor I have ever had. The ideas she brings to this university about management are monumental.  

  Dr. Janice Cerveny, her classes use a different type of teaching method. Her classes require research and a great deal of writing. Her teaching methods reflect on a partnership with the students and herself. Even at 7;00pm when you are tired and may not want to attend class her class energizes you, not make you fall asleep.

  Lorraine Cross. From the time I met her, she was always open to help me even when she wasn't my teacher. I would have liked to meet her earlier in the program.  

  Mrs. Vance Noelk - very understanding, patient, helpful, takes the time to make certain you understand. Stephanie Mahler- creative, inventive, hands-on, "the teacher I wasn’t to become." Enthusiastic. Lorraine Cross- enthusiastic, very thorough.  

  Lorraine Cross was truly my inspiration during one of my most difficult semesters by giving a tremendous amount of moral support. Also, I feel that Dr. Yahya is truly a wonderful professor whom I was able to call upon at any time or reason.  

  Lorraine Cross was an Angel! She was a big influence as well as Daphine Panzer.  

  Loraine Cross was the most knowledgeable, professional, influential faculty member I dealt with at FAU. I have used the information and skills she taught in every class and classroom since I had her for Gen I. Kudos to Lorraine Cross.

  Professor Karen Dodge had a special impact on my success at FAU. She taught Research Methods; one of the hardest courses of social work during a summer term. She taught the course with such love and with an appreciation for each student. In the middle of t he term, I was no longer afraid of the course. I loved Research Methods finally.  

  Wes Hawkins and Karen Dodge were there when I needed them most. They both made learning and class work easy. They both encouraged thought and were there to clarify that which was not understood

  Linda Johnson and Stephanie Cunningham are two of the most effective professors of graphic design. They always try to make you really dig down into yourself to find creative solutions instead of solutions that just work.

Dr. Brett laursen also provided a great experience f or me in his study where I attended + contributed to laboratory studies. And last but not least… Nancy Botero is always willing to help anytime, anyway, anywhere!

  Dr. Leeds & Dr. Stockard are the "Dynamic Duo" of the English Dept. Their vast knowledge and passion for literature made my time at FAU truly rewarding.  

  Dr. Leeds is very enthusiasitc about teaching. He seems to really want students to lrean and enjoy learning. I think he's the best professor I had while attending FAU. I was never really interested in Medieval Literature he made the stories and characters "come alive".  

  Dr. Leeds was a helpful professor in my success because of his overall attentiveness towards students that respected his every whim for his lectures and also his confidence in me as a student. Dr. Kurjiaka also for her aim to push students into recognizing and learning about their writing skills.  

  I consider Dr. Leeds to be one of the most influential professors in my college history. I have always loved literature, but his passion for his craft has inspired me. He brings to mind a line of wisdom I read long ago; The best teacher- the one who makes you want to learn!  

  No one in particular. There were a few professors who got me interested in subjects or gave me sufficient knowledge. Glen Singer's News Reporting class was very helpful in my internship at the Sun-Sentinel. Professor Leeds literature classes revived my in terest in literature.

  Dick Mangan was the best teacher I had throughout FAU. He was intersting and presented his calss well. My advisor, Susan Surrat, was the one who helped me through my last 2 years. She was there any time I needed advice. She helped me a great deal to gradua te and has also helped me to begin my graduate carreer even though she is not my graduate advisor. She is really great.

One thing he said does come to mind, "Math is not really difficult, but students don't realize that you have to approach math differently than other subjects, Math is practice, practice, practice- know those formulas and just practice doing the problems".   Dr. Tarantino and Dr. D.G. Perry: Dr. Tarantino was an excellent professor who inspired me to want to be a clinical psychologist. Dr. D.G. Perry is currently sponsoring my honors thesis and is an excellent research scientist. Reading about his research in the periodical "Psychology Today" inspired me to transfer to FAU.  

  Dr. N. Jones - very open to allowing student to learn on own. Giving opportunity to those requesting. Dr. Tarrentino - broadened my thinking. Dr. Monson - his unique approach to stats.  

  Dr. Santo Tarantino. Provided great insight into the field of psychology. His advice has been crucial in my success at FAU. He also provided an extaordinary role model for one involved in that field.   (Back to Top)

Taylor, Dr.
  There were many professors of which helped me succeed. I would like to recognize Dr. Smiley, Dr. Ramasamy, + Dr.Taylor. I have a learning disability and they all greatly assisted me.  

  2 faculty members were very helpful in my success - Dr. Robert Taylor & Dr. George Young. They both had very positive attitudes and cared about whether or not students learned the material. Terry, Barbara
  Mrs. Barbara Terry in financial aid, she kept telling me not to give up and I can pass math. It took 1 1/2 years but with her encouragement "I did it" Mrs. Mary Kraut - World's Greatest Advisor - I was advised to take classes I did need, and when I met h er she helped guide me through that. She's my angel.  

  Dr. Terry, involvement in the psychobiology lab and programs involved with it.  

  I initially majored in Psychology- Dr. Leslie Terry was my most influential professor. In social work courses Professor Wallen in Practice III and Dr. Campoverde in Policy helped be more politically aware.   (Back to Top)

Touhey, Dr.
  Yes, I am very greatful for Dr. Tom Monson for being a great statistics instructor. He also has great patience. Math is a very difficult subject for me and he made it painless. I am also greatful for Dr. Touhey. He has helped me see that my goal is to beco me a Relationship Specialist. I never really knew what my specific interest was before,  

  Dr. Touhey of the Dept. of social Psycholgy. Although his methods of teaching are different, they helped me out a great deal.  

  Jan Muzic (Patho instr + Clinical instructor) is awesome + helped my confidence as did Cynthia Archibald. Dr. Reins + Lisa Bujowski + Tery Touhey are all very good + I learned a lot from their experience.   (Back to Top)

  Several professors very helpful and informative. Dr. Phores, Dr. Morton, Phillip Dyer, Turner *NOTE** <%Dr. Stetson%> was not helpful, unable to separate class facts from feminist bias  

  Dr. Turner- who was my teacher for principles + methods in Math and my advisor as well. Dr. Turner is always available and very supportive to all his students. I felt I could go to him with any question and he would follow through until you received your a nswer.  

  Dr. Turner, who helped me conquer my fear of math and show me it can be a fun subject to teach. Dr. Huie, who made learning and teaching language arts enjoyable. Dr. Wilson, helped spark my desire for ESE with all her knowledge. Dr. Duffy for her advising help and making assessment an area of interest. Susan Snowwhite is wonderful + most helpful in financial aid.  

  Dr. Robyne Turner's enthusiasm for understanding of our subject was a turning point for me. Prior to our class in Community Development, I was pursuing "the Degree", I have now discovered a vocation.   (Back to Top)

  Philip Pina- MAC1104- I'm not sure exactly how he did it, but I know I worked very hard and it was painful and he never gave up on me. One thing he said does come to mind, "Math is not really difficult, but students don't realize that you have to approach math differently than other subjects, Math is practice, practice, practice- know those formulas and just practice doing the problems".   When I think about these past years, I have to mention Ms. Deb Walker. It was her course, her excitement, and her personality that smooth the edges of my uncertainties in regards to the Communication field. I gained confidence and new aspirations, and actu ally began to believe I could someday write professionally.

  Lorraine Cross was truly my inspiration during one of my most difficult semesters by giving a tremendous amount of moral support. Also, I feel that Dr. Yahya is truly a wonderful professor whom I was able to call upon at any time or reason.  

  Dr. Huie- Treasure Coast (my advisor) Dr. Yahya- Treasure Coast Mr. Rustay- Treasure Coast (enthusiasm is contagious)  

  Dr. Matanzo, Dr. Yahya, and Dr. Huie- all three have so much knowledge to share, enthusiasm, and positive and supportive attitudes! If I would not have had these teachers, I would have missed out on a lot.  

  Dr. Yahya was always supportive. She gave positive feedback while guiding towards the appropriate goal.  

  Dr. Noorchaya Yahya - She was instrumental in helping me achieve the level of competence that I have.

  Dr. Yiu is an asset to the Math department. He provides humor to his courses and he teaches with the best interest of his students  

  Dr. Yiu is the best math teacher at this school. Too bad the other math teachers aren't as qualified.  

  I have found that many of the math professors are very willing to help. Dr. Yiu helped me a lot.
