  Dr. Abraham in Reading Diagnosis actually taught me reading strategies and "lingo" that allowed me to actively participate in conversations with school personnel. I was successfully able to implement those strategies in my field experiences.   (Back to Top)

Abtahi, Dr.
  Dr. Abtahi was a prrfessor in the ME department that was always there to help the students learn and understand material.  

  Dr. Abtahi is a great teacher. He likes projects and hands on work. Helps to see how things really work.  

  Dr. Abtahi showed me the most about school engineering and real world engineering. He applied real projects to illustrate what was learned in the class can be used to develop projects outside the class.  

  Dr. Abtahi in the ME department. Half way through my degree, my wife had our first child. This was a very difficult time with my school studies. Dr. Abtahi was my statics at the time. He was a big shoulder to lean on, him being a very good father figu re with his family.  

  Dr. Abtahi because he gave me the support and confidence that I needed by challenging me to do better at analyzing real life situations along with school situations.  

  Dr. Abtahi is a particular professor that helped me succeed at FAU by taking time out to make sure I passed all my classes with him.

  Professor Elvan Aktus  

  Elvan Aktas made quite an impression on me in his Advanced Managerial Finance class (Spring 2003). He is focused and demanding, which I came to realize helped me tremendously in "understanding" the material for the long-term as opposed to memorizing it fo r the near-term.  

  Elvan Aktas, professor of finance was a teacher who stood out. He is extremely competent and rewards students who make a concerted effort to learn and do assignments in a satisfactory manner.   (Back to Top)

  Dr. Michael Hoffman - guidance and thorough explanation of my courses. Professor Arlene Allen - clear and precise training.  

  I felt like Tim Allen, my Real Estate professor, was extremely knowledgeable and fair. He really challenged me and actually made me realize that I love the field that I'm in at present, Real Estate Broker. I have been extremely successful in this field a nd feel that his knowledge and expertise helped.  

  William Allen pushed me to be a good team leader and speaker. Roy Johnson gave me confidence to pursue graduate degree.   (Back to Top)

  The people who helped me were Prof. Lori Elis, Prof. Bruce Arnekly, and Prof. Jerry Hackett. They helped me outside as well as inside the classroom. That is the one good experience I could recall at FAU. <%Prof. David Griswold%> refused to help any stud ent. He is a sorry excuse for a professor.   Dr. Axe - Helped me organize a croup project in detail that led to other successes at FAU (level gradwork). Betsy Boras - Great job helping me find a project internship in the investment field. Dr. McNulty - Very thorough methodology and intestinal forti tude.  

  Dr. B. Axe who teaches Labor Relations was a great motivator for me. He loved the subject area that he taught and it showed in his enthusiasm during his lectures. His hands on approach to negotiations allowed students to think critically during negotiati ons and arbitrations. Dr. Trudie Coker (Sociology) also influenced me to succeed.   (Back to Top)

  Tracey Baxley - wonderful Language Arts teacher and also my advisor. Kizlik (Math and Social Studies) professors were also influential.

  Dr. Botwinick was very understanding and compassionate in my times of need. She probably doesn't even realize what a great role model she has been for me.  

  Dr. Botwinick - she is a very positive, kind and open professor. She makes you feel like you are important. When you have a problem with class she always takes time to help you figure out what you don't understand and will spend the time it takes to dire ct you.  

  Dr. Botwinick - gave me confidence. She has been very influential and I feel wealthier just knowing her.  

  Professors Stephen Engle and Ronald Feinman represented the best and the brightest, the most inspirational educators presently on staff with the History Department at FAU. Their comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter and clear presentation make the m an essential resource to students seeking an education in History. Also Rita Botwinick.   (Back to Top)

  Dr. Gellar-Schwartz - I felt she encouraged me to do my best and cared about her students improving their critical thinking skills. She also sets an excellent example in her own life regarding gender issues. She was very supportive to me emotionally in resolving personal issues! Dr. Ann Branaman - This professor makes herself available (time, energy, thoughts and emotions) to students. She is professional about the subject matter in the class and seems insightful about sociology in general. I greatly admire Dr. Branman's class management skills.   (Back to Top)

  Alexandra Brown took interest in my work and even asked me what my schedule was so she could offer her class at a time that was good for me. She was probably one of the most effective teachers I had and really stimulated my interest in Latin American Stud ies.

  Lofton Bullard. He has been helping me since I first started here, and his advising skills have expremely motivated me in being successfully graduated at FAU. Mr. Bullard has an exceptionally friendly personality.

  No. But I did like some of my professors a lot, such as Dr. Englehart (Accounting), Dr. Harper (Economics), Dr. Chiang (Economics), Dr. Ryan (International Business), Dr. Dallas (Business Law) to name a few. I can honestly say that those professors since rely care about the wellbeing of their students; please hire more like them. Dr. Dallas was volunteering that semester because FAU couldn't fit it in their budget. It was a summer term.   (Back to Top)

  Dr. Coker is a wonderful instructor and her brilliant lectures will forever remain in my memory. Dr. Araghi changed my perspective on gender issues and is the best professor I ever had.  

  Dr. Coker, Sociology professor, has been particularly helpful while studying at FAU.  

  Dr. Coker, Dr. Housen were very thorough with their lectures and what was expected of you in their class. They challenged every student to push themselves to the limit, but were always available and willing to help out a student during their office hours. Generally they both seemed very concerned about every student.  

  Dr. Coker was always willing to meet with students and give extra help or advice on class issues, world events, etc.  

  Dr. Trudie Coker was a very influential instructor to me. I learned the most from her courses and found her a true inspiration, as a professor as well as an amazing woman.  

  There was not a particular person. Many of my professors helped me in different ways. One whom I learned tremendously from was Dr. Trudie Coker.  

  Dr. Trudie Coker really helped me to understand all of what encompasses sociology. She is very passionate about what she does and brings her students along with her.  

  Dr. Trudie Coker has challenged me in the form of research and writing skills.  

  Dr. B. Axe who teaches Labor Relations was a great motivator for me. He loved the subject area that he taught and it showed in his enthusiasm during his lectures. His hands on approach to negotiations allowed students to think critically during negotiati ons and arbitrations. Dr. Trudie Coker (Sociology) also influenced me to succeed.  

  My first two classes at FAU I took Class Status and Power and Race and Ethnic Relations with Dr. Trudy Coker. She is the best professor and was a great start at FAU. She is wise and very gracious.  

  There are two: Professor Coker. Her classes are often challenging. The wealth of knowledge gained after completion is quite remarkable. Professor Layer. My consciousness was constantly raised after each class meeting.  

  Professor Trudie Coker motivated me to continue in my field and sparked interest for me.   (Back to Top)

  One of the faculty that supported me was Prof. Cunningham and Prof. Johnson. They made me understand a lot about the fields.  

  It's hard to select one because each of my professors helped me succeed in one way or another. But I can honestly say that at a time when I did not have faith in my own skills, Professor Cunningham and Professor Oliver were great sources of encouragement.  

  Linda Johnson gave me the confidence that I now have on myself. Her critique of my work was always constructive and helped me realize that sometimes you have to go out of your comfort zone to satisfy clients. Stephanie Cunningham also taught me this.   (Back to Top)

  I enjoyed all of them, but Mr. Curless was my favorite. He taught Anatomy in a way I could understand. He brought the subject to our level of understanding. I wish more teachers would do that. They need to realize sometimes the information is new to so me of us!

  Joe waters helped me with planning for a degree in Education. Dr. Carios Diaz showed me multicultural aspects in the world.

  Lorraine Cross encouraged and helped me at a time when I was just about burned out on schooling. Bob Kizlik was also a great influence on me. Joe Waters helped me a great deal.  

  There were two individuals who helped me get through some of my most challenging times at FAU. Professor Zain and especially my advisor, Mr. Waters. He was always available, understanding and helpful.
